Art & Bicycle Spectacle 2012

BICYCLE ART SHOW ARTISTS RECEPTION
CALL TO ARTISTS:  
Bicycle Themed Art Exhibition, May 4 - 31, 2012, in Aberdeen, SD
Visual artists are invited to submit their bicycle themed work to be exhibited and featured in the "Bike Art Show" Exhibition, which is a prelude to the Art & Bicycle Spectacle at the end of May and in recognition of National Bike Month.  The artwork will be displayed in the Red Rooster Coffee House Gallery located on Main St. in historic downtown Aberdeen, SD.
ELIGIBILITY AND GUIDELINES: 
All work is of, or about, the bicycle. 
All work must be original. 
Artwork may be of any media (ie: Painting, Drawing, Photography, Printmaking, Pottery, Woodworking, etc.). 
Our space requires wall-mounted 2D work OR free standing sculpture. No pedestals will be available. 
Work must be ready for display (hangable) upon delivery. 
Artists are responsible for pick-up of their artwork if it is not sold by May 31, 2012.
SALES: Work may be "For Sale" or "Not for Sale" (NFS). Art work sold will be assessed a 20% commission. 
The Fallout reserves the right to photograph any work for documentation, education and publicity purposes without
additional compensation.

CREATIVE CONSTRUCTION COMPETITION
CALL TO CREATIVE TEAMS:
Fallout Art & Bicycle Spectacle's
Creative Collaborative Construction Competition

On friday evening teams of two people or more will pick items from an assortment of found objects to be used, along with their own materials, to create a found objects sculpture.  The teams will create the sculptures on-site allowing the public to watch.  Sculptures must be completed by Saturday at midnight and will be featured on Sunday at the Art & Bicycle Spectacle.  Awards will be presented by a panel of judges with People's Choice Awards decided by festival attendees.

Competition Starts: 
Friday, May 25 - 7pm
Construction must be completed by:
Midnight Saturday, May 27

Finished sculptures will be diplayed for viewing and voting at the 
Fallout Art & Bicycle Spectacle - Sunday, May 27, 3pm
public voting ends at 6pm with awards ceremony at 7pm.
